Macedonia

             Macedonia

We went to Macedonia on 17 October 2012 at midnight. We arrived to Kičevo at 3:30 p.m. There we met the students and teachers from Macedonia and Serbia. After that we went to the students homes to unpack and rest a little. At 7 p.m. we had to be in front of the Macedonian school. The students put on a little show for us. After the show we went to Bisera and had a party. Around midnight we all went home to get rest for the next day. On Friday we had a little workshop in the morning. It was about the news and how reporters can manipulate the truth. At 1 p.m. Macedonians took us to the Ohrid Lake. We had a lot of fun there. While we were there, we had to walk for a long time, just to see an old church, but it paid off. The view from up there was very beautiful. Everybody took a lot of photos of the Ohrid Lake and the church. On the way back to Kičevo we sang in the bus. After we got home, we went to a playgruond and when they turned off the light, we went to the school ground and played volleyball. Vanja got a few kicks that night but not on purpose. Everyone went home around 1 a.m., got some sleep, so that we could have more fun the next day. On the third day we went to Skopje! The capital city of Macedonia. The main square in Skopje looks amazing. There are statues, fountains and the biggest statue of all has fountains all around it, but even more important thing is that we went to a shopping mall. We had a lot of free time so we were walking around, going to stores and buying things that we like. we came home, got a little rest and went to the Hotel Kičevo where we had dinner and celebrated Jelena's birthday. We went home to get rest for Sunday because it was our last day together. On Sunday morning we had a workshop on how to write news and how to be responsible while using the net. Everyone cried, we hugged eachother, but mostly we all cried. We all had fun, got to meet great people and make new friends.
WE ALL HOPE THEY WILL VISIT US TOO!♥

Together in Kicevo

Together in Kicevo

This year, my school participated in an international project. 14 students from our school went to Macedonia. Our project’s name is „Togehter we choose and create our future“. Besides our school from Pirot, Serbia and school from Kicevo, Macedonia, children from Croatia, participated as well.
Departure was in front of our school on 18th of October. We travelled by bus. After 7 hours of travelling we arrived at Kicevo. Each of us found his friend from Kicevo, where we were supposed to sleep. My friend’s name was Filip Naumovski. He is great. He has an older brother named Andrej. Filip goes to primary school „Kuzman Josifovski Pitu“, and he is an excellent student.
Hosts from Macedonia prepared a ceremony of their school to welcome us and Croats. There were a lot of dancing, singing, socializing.... After the welcome, we tried some traditional Macedonian food, and we also ate a special prepared food on barbeque.  After the dinner I went to Filip’s home, and we played some computer games. Later we went to the party. There was a lot of music and juices, but me and my friends from Pirot did not play. Filip and me were bored, so we went home at around half past ten.
The next day we had a workshop called „Icebreaker“. After that we had another workshop on how to use cameras and fotocameras.  We had a job to create a cover page about fashion. That was funny, because in our team were only boys, and we named our cover page „ULTRA FASHION“. Then we had a break. After the break we had another workshop, about interview journalist. We had a job to describe the characteristics of Arnold Scwarzeneger. One of jounalist called Vlatko, told us something about editing and playback. After these workshops we had a break for lunch. Then went on a trip to Ohrid. I have never been  to Ohrid. First, we went to National workshop for making paper. We saw a Guttenberg printing machine there. Then we visited the city center. We saw a lot of interesting mosaics and a lots of beautiful constructions. We saw Platisnik, Samoil’s fortress, and St. Kaneo’s church. We back to host’s home about 9 p.m.  The next day we went on an excursion to the capital city of Macedonia, Skopje. We first visited the Macedonian Radio Television. We saw a lot of space and cameras and we also met some journalists and reporters. They were all friendly and described us how the TV station works. After  visiting the Macedonian Radio Television, we got the lunch packet. After the lunch break, we went to visit Skopje. Skopje is a very beautifull city, full of monuments, tall buildings, shopping centers... The mot beautifull  monument and fountain to me is statue of Alexander the Great (Macedonian)
After touring the city, we went to a big shopping centre. First we visited Mc Donalds. After that our teacher invited us to watch 7D movies. That was fantastic. We watched a film about snakes , mouses and mosquitos. After 7D movies we went to a game room. Aleksa and me played billiar vs Filip and Alksa’s friend Kristijan. We defeated them. About 16 o’clock we went to Filip’s home in Kicevo. We rested a bit and we played a few games on the computer.  We had a special dinner in hotel Kicevo. The next day, Sunday, was the last day of socializing. We had one workshop about „Creating meduim message“.  Hosts from Macedonia, gave us a red T-shirt, labeled „Kicevo Macedonia“ and a yellow folder with notepad and pen. About 9 a.m. we went home in Pirot. All were sad and crying, but I didn’t know why, because we will see in February in Pirot. The waiter took a lot of picture of us together with big letters „A C E S“.
That was an amazing experience. I hope that children from Macedonia and Croatia will visit Pirot, and I hope we'll have great time again.

The next one was about pictures in mediums. We had to describe one picture. After that we had a class with professional cameraman. He was talking about working the camera and we learned how to use our camera’s property. In the next workshop we had to make a cover page of magazine. My team’s theme was about fashion, and we named our magazine, ,, Ultra fashion”. After that, we had a pause for lunch. At 14.00 we left Kicevo and went to Ohrid. First we went to see how did people make paper a long time ago. It was awesome. We saw the first printing machine. It was Gutenberg’s. the next place was church St. Climent and Plaosnik. Next day, we had and excursion to Skopje. We visited MRTV-Macedonian Television. We saw the studios for sport, news… We met a man who works in television. We saw technology in the master control room. We left the television station and we had some free time, so we decided to take a walk trough the center of the city. Skopje is very beautiful. Their sculptures, monuments, fountains and museums were breathtaking. Then we went to shopping center. I watched a movie in 7D cinema. It was awesome. We came back to Kicevo, and had a dinner at the hotel. On our last day we had a class with a famous journalist. It was about using Internet and Facebook, and it was about communications in mediums too. After the class, we left Kicevo, and we went to Krushevo. We were sightseeing Toshe Proeski’s memorial house and his grave. We had a lunch in Krushevo. Our next station was archeological sight Stobi. After a lesson about Stobi, we got in the bus and continued our journey to Pirot. The last day was the toughest. That’s when all of us had to say goodbye. But before that we had an interview whit a famous journalist Alexa. My time in Macedonia was very fun. I wish that we could have more time in Macedonia. ACES is a great organization, that helps build relationships and friendships with children from other countries. We all thank to ACES for provide support for all.

It's day 24th of September 2012, my English teacher and me went to Laško in Slovenia like representatives of our school Primary school Belica. The first day was hard because I was very nervous. When we came there, they showed us our rooms. When I entered I thought that my roomates are very quite but the truth was opposite. Already second day we became great friends. I'll introduce my roomates to you. Momchilo Kostić from Serbia, and Stefan from Macedonia. During the second day we had a workshop where we had to collect stamps in Laško and in the nature around the Hotel. We had a lot of fun. On the third day we visited city of Celje. First we visited one big castle. The castle was magnificent. Thursay was the hardest day because we were supposed to make a movie. Gregory showed us how to make it. He's from Chicago, and he is very funny and a great man. He helped us a lot. During the workshop we could learn how to make a comic or a real movie. In the evening we had a party. I had a lot of fun and met new people. Friday was the worst day because I had to leave all these good people that I met there, and I hope we'll meet again. These five days were the best days in my life and I miss them a lot!

aces Kick-off Meeting

From 24 - 28 September, school representatives participated the Kick-off Meeting in Laško in Slovenia and finally met their project partners.  :)

''Together we choose, create and make our future''

Our children are growing up in a “media age” in which mass communications are both widely available and highly influential. This is at once a benefit and a problem.
This is the main reason why three primary schools from Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia decided to work together on a project organized by ACES.
During this project we would like to point out that the media could educate and entertain, inform and inspire.
Through several workshops we will deal with advantages and disadvantages of advertising, security and privacy on the Internet, producing an educational game and making a short documentary film about tradition and customs of our countries.
